Community survey - dogs at Elliott Heads

There are strong and opposing community views about dogs at Elliott Heads. Some believe the situation with dogs is quite bad, with others believing there are no problems with dogs at Elliott Heads at all.

There is community interest in a dog park, and interest from dog owners in an "off leash" area where dogs can run and exercise freely.

There is strong agreement that dog owners need to clean up after their dogs. Some think the majority of dog owners do clean up after their dogs; some have advised that certain dog owners don’t do this.

Council would like to hear from the wider community about dogs at Elliott Heads, including your views on the new ‘no dogs’ and ‘on leash’ signs, the State’s advice that the Elliott Heads sand flats can be used as off leash and possible locations for any future fenced off leash dog park (please note: Council has not completed the assessment of the regional dog park survey; and towns for the next two dog parks have not been determined).

Council welcomes your feedback.
