Community Youth Collective - Youth Survey
The Community Youth Collective is a network of local youth-based services, schools and Bundaberg Regional Council. Our aim is to share information, identify gaps and trends in Bundaberg, develop projects and initiatives for our youth.
This survey is a locally driven initiative of the Collective created due to a lack of evidence within the local youth sector and has two main purposes.
- Develop an evidence base on local youth issues, trends and service gaps, particularly around homelessness.
- To identify if the region’s youth would benefit from a ‘Youth Hub’ and what they would want from this initiative.
A ‘Youth Hub’ would be a physical building, aimed at providing a safe and fun space for youth by breaking down social barriers. This will be accomplished through encouraging social activities and opportunities for you to better connect with other youth and local services.
The proposed hub will also provide a location for community programs and workshops to address youth-based issues, educate on important life-skills (tax, rental applications, etc), create opportunities to better connect with their families, the workforce, wider community, and service providers.
For information on an example of a youth hub space, please view the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centres purpose-built facility, ‘Reconnect Youth Centre’.
