June 2024 project update

Upgrades to Laurisen Park will commence in July through to October 2024.

You can read the latest project newsletter here.

The latest concept design can be viewed here.

The project now includes the installation of a 1500mm high fence around the whole playground.

As the concrete work will need to be undertaken in multiple stages to allow the concrete to cure and dry, the project team's presence on site will be determined around this.

Great news for Kepnock residents.

Laurisen Park on Scotton Street will be upgraded, as part of Bundaberg Regional Council’s Parks Capital Works Program.

As well as replacing the existing playground, Council proposes to include new seating, a new picnic shelter, refurbishment of the existing basketball court and the widening of existing pathways. New shade trees will also be planted with some existing non-native trees removed.

This upgrade will ensure that the park supports the recreation needs of the surrounding community and is in keeping with Council infrastructure standards.

The draft concept plan, below, shows the proposed upgrades. Please give your feedback to Council by Sunday 6 March 2022 by filling out the feedback form.
