The Bundaberg Region Youth Scholarship Awards (BRYSA) formally recognise and support youth in the Bundaberg Region who have overcome significant obstacles in pursuit of their personal achievements. The merit-based scholarships are awarded to six recipients (between the ages of 15-24), selected annually from a pool of nominations from across the Bundaberg region.

Scholarship awards are to be used for continued education or training and help to support social and economic development by enabling our young people to grow, learn, and prosper within our community.

Scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 per student award, are available each calendar year for the following categories:

  • Two recipients beginning (or continuing) university studies
  • Two recipients beginning (or continuing) vocational education and training (VET) courses
  • Two recipients beginning (or continuing) apprenticeships or traineeships

Subject to available funding and program demand, successful nominees are at this time entitled to receive one scholarship award in a calendar year and are not eligible for multiple scholarships in future years.
