Lorraine Haines asked 7 months agoThank you for your enquiry. Council is actively managing the Rifle Range beach area, carrying out weed control, planting of appropriate native species and watering. Unfortunately there is usually a portion of loss in revegetation projects, however recent weather conditions may be exacerbating the problem. Environmental vandalism has also been an issue in this location. Council will continue to monitor this situation.
There is an active ‘Friends of Rifle Range’ volunteer group. Please advise if you would like us to put you in touch with the leader of this group so you can work with her. We will also endeavour to inform the local community and involve them in any future replacement or additional planting in the area. Please keep a look out for these opportunities.

We have received some requests for Elliot Heads and are currently considering some tree plantings in the area. Please email onemilliontrees@bundaberg.qld.gov.au if there is a particular location in Elliot Heads you would like to be considered for a tree planting.

Tracy Olive asked about 2 years agoTracy, yes, we can help with that! Please send an email to the One Million Trees team onemilliontrees@bundaberg.qld.gov.au with details of the area where you live, and we’re happy to provide some plant suggestions that will attract native birds.
Please note we can provide all landowners of the Bundaberg region up to 250 trees through our Landowner Program, and provide advice on what plants would suit your property depending on what you are aiming to do.
