Adoption of Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment

At its Ordinary Meeting held 31 March 2026, Council adopted an amendment to the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP). The LGIP amendment takes effect on and from 10 April 2026 as Version 6.5 of the Bundaberg Regional Council Planning Scheme.

The purpose and general effect of the LGIP amendment is to:

  • update the Planning Assumptions, Population, Demand and Employment Models which support the LGIP, reflecting the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) publications and Queensland Treasury (QGSO) projections;
  • review Council’s Priority Infrastructure Area (PIA) and Desired Standards of Service (DSS) to ensure compliance with the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules (MGR) and alignment to Council’s latest network planning strategies;
  • provide updates/amendments to the Plans for Trunk Infrastructure (PFTI), Schedule of Works (SoW) model and Extrinsic Material;
  • update the Financial Sustainability Assessment.

    Council is seeking your feedback and comments on the proposed amendment by close of business (4.45pm) on Friday, 29 August 2025.
