Proposed Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment

Council has prepared an amendment to its Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP).

The purpose and general effect of the proposed LGIP amendment is to:

  • update the Planning Assumptions, Population, Demand and Employment Models which support the LGIP, reflecting the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) publications and Queensland Treasury (QGSO) projections;
  • review Council’s Priority Infrastructure Area (PIA) and Desired Standards of Service (DSS) to ensure compliance with the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules (MGR) and alignment to Council’s latest network planning strategies;
  • provide updates/amendments to the Plans for Trunk Infrastructure (PFTI), Schedule of Works (SoW) model and Extrinsic Material;
  • update the Financial Sustainability Assessment.

The proposed amendment was placed on public consultation from 1 August 2025 to 29 August 2025. Public consultation has now closed.

Council is currently in the process of reviewing and considering submissions. Following consideration of submissions, Council will decide whether to proceed with the proposed LGIP amendment. In accordance with the relevant State legislation Council, in due course, will provide you with an explanation as to how your submission was considered.

    Council is seeking your feedback and comments on the proposed amendment by close of business (4.45pm) on Friday, 29 August 2025.

    Bundaberg Regional Council is collecting your personal information (e.g., name, address, phone number etc), for the purposes of receiving a ‘properly made’ submission on the Proposed Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment.

    This information may be provided to the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDIP) for the purpose of providing a summary of matters raised in submissions.
