What is IP@K?
The Integrated Pathways @ Kepnock State High School (IP@K) program aims to re-connect disengaged youth through a series of immersive experiences hosted by local industry representatives onsite at their businesses.
What is the role of an industry mentor?
Mentors have the opportunity to support groups of 10 students in a range of hands-on activities. This may include any facet of the business, giving students insight, skills and practical experience.
As an industry mentor, can I have assistance with developing the student experience at my business?
Yes, industry mentors will have the opportunity to work with teachers to develop specific experiences for student groups.
Where do IP@K activities take place?
Activities preferably take place onsite at the industry mentors’ business location.
How often are industry representatives required to host students?
Time commitment for hosting students is up to individual business’ discretion.
How many hours are required from my organisation?
Time commitment onsite is up to the individual business’ discretion, but the steering group recommends no less than two hours per visit.
Will students be accompanied during site visits?
Yes. All student groups will be supervised by teachers from Kepnock State High School.
Are employers required to carry Blue Cards for student visits?
No. Blue cards are not required for student visits.
