The festive season is almost close enough to hear those sleigh bells jingling and with it comes the outpouring of community and business support for the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.
Residents can help make Christmas brighter for hundreds of local families while coming together for an evening of celebration and entertainment at this year’s Taste Bundaberg Festival gala event, the Mayor’s Ball.
Mayor Helen Blackburn joined the hamper packing efforts at Salvation Army Bundaberg and said it was evident the money raised would help a lot of people in the region.
“Now that the hampers have been prepared and are being distributed, it’s wonderful to see the tangible benefits of the fundraising,” Mayor Blackburn said.
Auswide Bank has gifted an early Christmas present to the Bundaberg Region community in a two-year deal to support the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal valued at $50,000.

The draw date for the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal caravan raffle has been extended, giving the community more time to purchase tickets in support of the annual charitable campaign.
A collaboration between Bundaberg Services Club and Takalvans, the raffle offers ticket holders a one-in-one-thousand chance of snagging the major prize, a New Age Manta Ray MR16E 2024 model, valued at $69,990.
Residents decorating for Christmas can add a uniquely Bundaberg decoration to their tree, and show their support for the community, with the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal collectible bauble now available.
This year’s bauble was a collaboration between Bundaberg Regional Council, local artist Carmel Birchley, Sunshine Mitre 10 and Maki Print.
