CBD Stakeholder Survey

The Bundaberg Regional Council is committed to creating Safe Spaces and Thriving Places and is conducting research to understand what behaviours are occurring in the CBD and the effect / impacts of these incidents upon businesses and organisations operating in the CBD. The aim of this survey is to gather insights from businesses and organisations based in the CBD particularly about antisocial behaviours including those involving people sleeping rough in the CBD area.

This survey is designed for people who work in or own a business in the Bundaberg CBD.

Taking part in this survey is completely voluntary and you do not have to answer questions you do not feel comfortable answering.

This survey asks you about your views and experiences of anti-social behaviours in the Bundaberg CBD area including those displayed by people sleeping rough.

If your quality of life is negatively affected by other people in your community then you could have experienced anti-social behaviour.

If you would rather not answer a question or find it upsetting, you will be able to choose ‘prefer not to say’ at any point. Each question also has a ‘don’t know’ option.

Definitions:

Anti-social behaviour is defined as any behaviour that causes people nuisance, annoyance, alarm or distress. There are many different types of anti-social behaviour including behaviours that are aggressive or intimidating or that impact upon a person’s quality of life. The defining characteristic is the impact on an individual and their quality of life. The incident does not have to have been reported to the police or any other organisation to be anti-social behaviour.

Rough Sleeping is defined as living on the streets, sleeping in parks, squatting, staying in cars or in improvised dwellings for shelter.

A Homelessness Camp is where people experiencing homelessness and anti-social behaviours have established camps or entrenched themselves in public space. This includes the accumulation of personal items in public space such as beds, cooking equipment, furniture, clothing and bags.

You will now be asked some questions about anti-social behaviour in the Bundaberg CBD area including those displayed by people sleeping rough.

For the purpose of this survey we have defined the CBD as Bourbong Street, Quay Street and Woongarra Street between Maryborough Street and Walla Street, Bundaberg.
