Project update - August 2024
Shade sail posts installation
Work to install the shade sail posts commenced Tuesday 20 August 2024 and will continue for the remainder of the week.
During this time the playground will remain accessible to the community.
There is a partial closure of one of the footpaths, but the majority of the park remains open to the public.
Once the posts are installed the concrete will require time to dry and cure.

The shade sails will be installed starting Monday 2 September 2024.
The work will take approximately one week to complete.
During this time the playground will be closed for safety reasons.
Visitors will still be able to access the park area.

Project information - 2021
The Apple Tree Creek Community Park will be upgraded, as part of Bundaberg Regional Council’s Parks Capital Renewal Program 2021 – 2022 .
This project will ensure the park supports the recreation needs of the surrounding community and is in keeping with Council infrastructure standards; and was identified in the Parks and Open Strategy 2019 – 2026.
The existing play equipment has been removed early on in the project as it was flood damaged.
A new playground will cater for children 0 – 15 years.
The internal pathways will be upgraded to connect to the toilet block facility.
The need for additional shelters, barbecues and picnic facilities will be considered in the design process as this park caters for the local, regional and travelling public.
The need for additional bins, water bubblers and landscaping will also be considered.
The existing flagpole located in Apple Tree Creek Recreation Reserve, next to the Apple Tree Creek Community Park, has deteriorated and we are considering options with the RSL Isis Sub Branch Inc. and the broader community.
