March 2022
Bundaberg Regional Council has identified that the park facilities in Wallaville are at the end of their useable life and offer little recreational value to the community.
Council is considering removing the existing Burnett Street bike course permanently and concentrating upon re-developing the Wallaville Park playground, appropriate to the age groups and needs of the Wallaville children. This may include facilities such as small play decks for toddlers, a pump track (compacted dirt mounds) for primary school children and multifunctional goal posts for teenagers.
Council would like you to consider what type of recreational activities and equipment you might like to have included in this re-development project and invites you to participate in our survey and attend the community consultation morning in Wallaville so that we can collect your ideas and suggestions.
Council’s Parks, Sport & Natural Areas Capital Works Program has funding to undertake this work over the course of the financial years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Please note that playgrounds removed from Bundaberg Regional Council parks cannot be sold or donated to the wider community as they no longer meet current Australian Standards.
