Commercial e-scooter Hire Services in the Bundaberg Region

In April 2021, Bundaberg Regional Council approved a commercial permit relating to the provision of an e-scooter hire service to the general public within specified riding zones throughout the Bundaberg Region.

Rideables (e-scooters, e-skateboards, and segways) have quickly become a popular mode of transportation and are seen as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to public or private transport.

In Queensland, all e-scooters (privately owned or hired for a fee) are subject to government regulations that are enforced by the Queensland Police Service (QPS). Read more about Rideable safety and rules in Queensland here. The State Government has recently announced reforms. You can read about them here.

Council is seeking community feedback on your experiences and views of commercially operated e-scooters (not privately owned e-scooters).

This feedback will inform Council’s decision surrounding the continuation of the commercial permit that allows Rideable companies to operate in the Bundaberg Region.

Please give us your views on your experience of commercial e-scooters in the Bundaberg Region by completing the survey, below.

Paper copies of the survey will be available from Council's Administration Centre in Bundaberg or by phoning 1300 883 699.
