2022/2023 Shade Sail Projects

Consultation has concluded

Eight playgrounds across the region will receive shade sails this financial year in 2022/2023. 

Shade sails provide ultraviolet protection benefitting park users with a cooler and more comfortable climate to play under and ensuring that play equipment can be enjoyed all year round.

Council recognises the importance of shaded play areas and where possible locate playground equipment next to existing natural shade. Where this is not possible the team undertake landscaping work to plan for future shade or consider the use of built shade structures.
