The Strategy articulates how we intend to manage roads into the future. This supports Council in developing a mature road infrastructure pipeline which delivers value to the community.

Road investment is a holistic approach to making informed decisions to manage and improve Council’s road network in a financially sustainable way by identifying community needs and optimising benefits.

The Strategy will enable Council to deliver a service that caters for future growth while maintaining and improving existing road infrastructure by considering road safety, level of service, asset life and condition, community wellbeing and the environment.

Road projects will be prioritised using an economic analysis framework that balances budgets, performance and risk across the road network. This framework prioritises road projects using a benefit cost ratio to establish a ranked list which will support decisions regarding future road investment.
